UDoIT

UdoIT is a framework for management consulting, strategic planning and IT enabled re-engineering and package implementation. The emphasis is to train the organizations in-house people in the techniques and only where required to provide, as needed external consulting help. Often these types of assignments are done by the Big Consulting firms, like Deloitte, KPMG, IBM etc. They have their own consulting and implementation methodologies, and their consultants are trained in them. UDoIT has no such restrictions, and we are planning to supplement it with Open Source based ERP/CRM/SCM and BPM solutions. We will also be training of people, via eLearning and live web casts in UDoIT to meet the great shortage in these skills.

This is a three phase framework, first to Understand, then to Streamline and lastly to Automate, in short USA, for an IT enabled transformation or re-engineering. Briefly the Phases are:

Understand
This is the strategic and management consulting phase, in which various tools are used to understand the organization its problems, future, and

Streamline

Streamline the processes. The existing processes (As-Is) are analyzed, and changes/re-engineering required to meet the future needs and new processes (To-Be) and organization structure are arrived at. This forms the basis of any automation solutions and the selection of the software package.


Automate

Having chosen the software package the IT implementation starts. It goes through a package training, the steps of a Gap Analysis, building/changing the software to overcome the gaps, testing the design, training the staff, converting the master data, and then the transaction files, running a pilot/parallel run, as required and then eventually going live with the new system.
